I had the opportunity to meet with Mara before the engagement session. Before I get into the details of this couple, I need to share that I value ‘real’ people. Authentic. Those that are willing to ‘connect’. Mara is just that. In that quality alone, I am really encouraged because it can be easy to find joy and beauty and love. When the day for the engagement photos came along, I was really curious to meet Jake. Because I liked Mara so much, I figured Jake had to be a pretty cool person for her to choose him to share life with. Jake did not disappoint, being easy going and pleasant. You can tell he cares about those around him.
Since I kinda like math, I’ll put it in those terms. Add two super cool people with the beauty of the surroundings around us and that equals a really special day. I can’t wait to see them celebrate their wedding this summer!
There are some detail shots I really appreciate. But they sometimes tell a story that’s kind of an inside story. This picture of them walking with their hands up in the air, ready to take on life together is just that for me. I see them as teammates, ready to walk forward to the next battle or adventure together. That is inspiring to me.
We found a spot, familiar to Mara and Jake, to let the dogs run. I kid you not, that’s all they did.
She would only stop to make sure her best buddy was still around.
And here’s where Mara and Jake brought them in a for a family picture. Dogs crack me up. I never know what new and quirky personality will show up. If you notice the little one, she didn’t want to sit. But she would get in the ‘play’ position just fine.
