Another beautiful day, another family adventure! After getting a taste of the Mackenzie before, we decided to come back and explore more on a weekday and we had the river almost to ourselves! Taking adventure photos has really made me work on my ‘game’ of photography. It’s gorgeous wherever we go, but the lighting doesn’t always make it easy to get awesome photos. Despite that, it’s a fun challenge for me to get photos that tell the story as well as highlight how pretty of a spot we are in. I’m loving all of it!!
After all we saw over the entire hike, this was the favorite spot.
I’m not sure what is more stunning, the color or how cold the water feels.
They didn’t want to stay long at the river, since you can’t swim in it. So it’s back to their fave spot.
It cracks me up to look back through the photos to see all the details I may have missed the first time. Like Silas jumping on the log while Heidi went through.
Just a little further down the road is the trailhead for Blue Pool. There were only a few cars, which has to be extraordinary, because there are enough signs around indicating where to park and where not to, that it’s evident it can be a crowded spot!
No mud means dust.
Ha, K saw her opportunity and splashed them.
The woods is just one giant playground for us all.
The crazy part is that there was enough water flowing that the falls was there. Normally, it’s just a ‘blue pool’.
Rainbow, for reals!
Snacks and treats are always great motivators.
Because Silas made his shirt all wet, he had a friend stop to say hi and take a drink.
And off it flew.
You can tell that the water is super cold since they always took high ground after stepping in.
Ta da!
