People ask me all the time, what is harder or easier to photograph. Usually they are wondering what ages of kids or families is easiest. I have a hard time answering, because each is difficult or easy in their own way. I never have to worry about a high school senior running off to play on the swings, or break into tears because I didn’t have a snack. I also never have to worry about a three year old giving me a genuine smile. That’s because they are easy to play games with, like chasing or tag. On the opposite, you can guess that playing peek-a-boo with a high school senior usually doesn’t bring a smile. The whole reason I bring this up is because every time I take photos of this family, the smiles are fast and furious. These little guys are an excellent example of kids who have genuine smiles going on. That’s because they have very fun parents!
Another question I’m asked most often is when my busiest time is. Being a family photographer in Oregon, the fall colors bring many families out. Also, the high school seniors have deadlines for the yearbook photo submission.
This is one of the first times I’ve made it out to Peavy Arboretum in the fall.
Playing tag is another game to bring smiles.
Mom is a tough one to keep ahead of. She had a baby this year and has already done a half marathon!
